HARF Emma Ray Award

The Hoosier Auto Racing Fans (HARF) club, Emma Ray Award for Courage is presented annually to a deserving individual who has shown courage, perseverance, or dedication regarding the sport of auto racing in and around the Hoosier state. The award is named in honor of Joie’s third wife, Emma, who showed great courage in fighting her terminal illness some years ago. (Joie was married four times.)

This year, the Emma Ray Award for Courage was presented to Rich Winings.

In addition, a new award was presented for the first time, the Emma and Joie Ray Award for Courage. The Ray Family proudly received the new award. Awards were presented at the HARF banquet in the Indianapolis area on 27 January 2008.
